citizen prosecutor academy
What is it?
This in-depth academy provides a unique look at the criminal justice system from the perspective of a prosecutor. Participants who are selected from a competitive application process will have the opportunity to hear directly from subject matter experts at the Prosecutors Office. Topics covered during the academy include the criminal justice system, the jury trial process, homicide investigations, crimes against children, vehicular crimes, cyber-crimes, and more.
Due to the sensitive nature of some of the topics, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and will be subjected to a limited background check to determine their suitability. The check will be limited to criminal history and warrant information. The information will not be used for any other purposes or shared with any other persons or entities.
The academy is offered every winter. Application window will be announced each year.
